KERNVILLE, CA., Tuesday, February 20, 2024 —
The Whiskey Flat Trail in the Kern River Ranger District
has been a beloved part of the community for many
decades.
Recreation Officer Eric Lundgren will host a community
meeting on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 6 pm in the
large conference room of the Kern River Ranger District
office. The purpose of the meeting will be to engage with
the public and seek participation on how to move
forward in the enhancement of the trailhead and
surrounding area.
“With the recent Forest Service acquisition of land near
Kernville, the timing is right to begin planning on the next
phase of this popular trail. The Forest is seeking input
from our community”, states District Ranger Al Watson.
