2024 Borel Fire

The U.S. Forest Service and California Interagency Incident
Management Team 11, in unified command with Kern County Fire Department, and Bureau of Land
Management is pleased to announce the reduction of selected evacuation orders previously imposed due
to the Borel Fire.
Be advised, the Borel Fire is not fully contained, only the zones listed below will be reduced. All other
evacuation orders and warnings are still in effect. Please be aware that firefighting activities will continue
for several more days or weeks. If any other areas become threatened, additional warnings and
instructions will be issued.
This is an update to the Borel Fire in the Breckenridge Area.
Genasys Zone KRN 403 has been re-split to reflect updated evacuation statuses. KRN-403 has been split
North and South, just north of Forest State Route 28S62.
The northern portion, now KRN-403A is no longer under an evacuation order. This order has been lifted,
no further advisories in place for this zone.
The southern portion, now KRN-403-B remains under an evacuation order. Those that remain in an
evacuation order should be aware that visibility in the area can be reduced and roads may become
blocked.
Zones: 735B, 737A, 738, 740B, 747A, 736, 741A have all been downgraded from an evacuation warning
to a normal status.
The evacuation orders for zones 737B and 739A have been lifted.
No further advisories are in place for these zones.
